Fundraising & Marketing Manager / Team Leader (Volunteer)
Lead the future of wildlife rescue and conservation in South Australia
Save Our Wildlife Foundation Inc. (SOWFI) is seeking an experienced and passionate Fundraising & Marketing Manager to lead our fundraising, marketing and stakeholder engagement activities.
With more than 140 active volunteers and thousands of wildlife rescues each year, SOWFI is one of South Australia's most active wildlife rescue organisations. As demand for our services continues to grow, we are looking for a strategic leader who can help secure sustainable funding, strengthen our brand, and build meaningful relationships with donors, sponsors, supporters and the broader community.
This is an exciting opportunity for a fundraising, marketing or business development professional who wants to use their skills to make a tangible impact on wildlife conservation and animal welfare.
About the role
Reporting directly to the Board, the Fundraising & Marketing Manager provides both strategic and operational leadership across SOWFI's fundraising and marketing functions.
You will oversee a growing team of volunteers and coordinate initiatives that increase revenue, strengthen community engagement, and enhance the organisation's profile and reputation.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising Leadership

Develop and implement SOWFI's annual fundraising strategy

Identify and grow income streams including:
- Corporate partnerships and sponsorships
- Individual donor giving
- Community fundraising
- Grants and philanthropic funding
- Workplace giving programs
- Bequests and gifts in wills
- Major fundraising events
- Merchandise and supporter programs

Identify new fundraising opportunities and strategic partnerships

Monitor fundraising performance and campaign outcomes

Ensure ethical fundraising practices and compliance requirements are met
Marketing & Communications

Lead SOWFI's marketing and communications strategy

Oversee digital marketing activities including:
- Website content
- Social media channels
- Email marketing campaigns
- Online fundraising initiatives

Ensure consistent brand identity and messaging across all communications

Support community engagement, awareness campaigns and public relations activities

Coordinate promotional activities that showcase SOWFI's impact and achievements
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor and support fundraising and marketing volunteers
- Coordinate team priorities, projects and campaigns
- Foster a collaborative and positive team culture
- Prepare reports and updates for the Board and key stakeholders
- Support the recruitment and development of fundraising and marketing volunteers
About You
You are an organised and motivated leader who enjoys building relationships and creating opportunities for growth.
You may have experience in:
- Fundraising or donor engagement
- Marketing and communications
- Business development or sponsorship
- Community engagement
- Project or team leadership
- Not-for-profit management
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

Approximately 8–10 hours per week, with flexibility around when the work is completed. Occasional attendance at meetings, events and stakeholder engagements may be required.
