Dovetree Aged Care Community in Sinnamon Park is seeking a Men’s Group Volunteer to help create a welcoming space where residents can socialise, learn new skills, enjoy conversations and good laughs, and take pride in completing meaningful projects.
These activities assist residents with socialising, promoting a sense of well-being and encouraging community connectedness. Most importantly they bring joy and create smiles!
Men's Group Volunteers can help residents by:
- Supporting residents to complete practical projects like building, painting, fixing, or creating.
- Helping set up activities and making the space welcoming.
- Encouraging residents to get involved.
- Guiding participants through the project and offering a helping hand where needed.
- Wrapping up the session by resetting the space and assisting residents as they transition out of the activity.
- Supporting residents by fostering connection, purpose, and meaningful engagement.
- Communicating resident feedback to staff to assist in improving both the activity and resident enjoyment.
This role is suitable for people who have well developed interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills and display a calm and empathetic manner when engaging with residents. Volunteering is a wonderful way to make a difference in the lives of our senior residents while making friends, having fun and learning new skills.
Volunteer hours are available Thursday or Friday from 1:30pm to 3:30pm.

All our volunteers follow a COVID-19 safe work plan and provide proof they have received a minimum of one primary COVID-19 vaccination before they are registered in their role.
Volunteers will also be required to have a current NDIS Workers Screening Clearance prior to commencement. This can be applied for through Wesley Mission Queensland at no cost to you.
