
About Us At Highbury Community Learning and Wellbeing Inc., our ultimate goal is to create warm, inclusive spaces where the whole neighborhood can truly connect, support one another, and enjoy fun, happy activities together! From our youth badminton initiatives to local family gatherings, we are all about building strong grassroots bonds.
Role Purpose We have fantastic community activities running, but we need someone who can actively promote them and drive attendance. We are seeking a proactive, hands-on Marketing & Community Outreach Coordinator who will not only provide advice but will actively execute promotional strategies across social media and within the local Burwood East / Whitehorse / Monash community.
**Key Responsibilities **
- Digital & Social Media Execution • Create & Publish Content: Actively design and post engaging graphics, reels, and stories on our platforms using tools like Canva to showcase our active sessions. • Manage Social Channels: Take full ownership of our social media channels—scheduling posts, updating event pages, and copywriting engaging text to attract local residents. • Active Community Engagement: Actively share our event updates into local Facebook Groups, community noticeboards, and parent networks to maximize visibility. • Interact with Public: Monitor and respond to messages, comments, and inquiries from families, making sure beginners feel welcomed before they even arrive.
- Local Community Outreach • Flyer & Poster Distribution: Assist the Committee in distributing or putting up promotional materials at local community hubs, libraries, supermarkets, and sports centres. • Grassroots Networking: Help connect our organisation with local schools, multicultural groups, and neighborhood centres to spread the word about our programs through word-of-mouth and networks. • Onsite Content Gathering: Occasionally attend our active sessions to capture high-quality photos/videos for future promotional materials.
Desired Skills and Experience • Proactive & Hands-on: A "get things done" attitude—someone who enjoys actively reaching out to people online and offline. • Social Media Experience: Practical experience in managing and growing Facebook and Instagram pages. • Content Creation: Basic skills in graphic design or video editing. • Communication: Warm, friendly, and clear communication style, with the ability to connect with diverse cultural groups in the neighborhood.
