Do you enjoy starting your day with a walk and a friendly chat? Bethania Community Centre is seeking an enthusiastic volunteer to lead our Early Bird Walking Group and help local residents stay active while building social connections.
As the Walking Group Leader, you'll welcome participants, lead relaxed walks through the local area at a comfortable pace, encourage conversation, and help create a supportive and inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading scheduled community walks. Greeting participants and fostering a friendly group atmosphere. Monitoring the group's pace and ensuring no one is left behind. Promoting inclusion and encouraging new participants to join in. Communicating any safety concerns or incidents to Centre staff. Assisting with attendance records or basic coordination if required.
No previous experience is necessary. We're looking for someone who enjoys meeting people, values community connection, and can commit to attending regularly.
