Oral History Interviewer
Advertised by Volunteering Sunshine Coast
We are seeking volunteers to train as oral historians; to help us collect the stories of older people who have lived and worked in country Australia. The Treasury of Country Australian History (TOCAH) is a not-for-profit organisation gathering the untold life stories of country people: their schooling, work, expertise, activities, humor, natural disasters, etc. TOCAH has older people from all backgrounds eager to tell their stories. We preserve these stories for generations to come.
Interviews are conducted in peoples’ homes. Volunteers are insured but travel is not reimbursed. Training is provided by an experienced oral historian and TOCAH provides a handbook and equipment. Volunteers set their own hours and availability.
