Duties

  • Support the development and implementation of volunteer recruitment strategies aligned with PMIQ’s goals and values

  • Collaborate with the AD and DAD for Volunteer Experience to identify current and future volunteer needs across portfolios.

  • Update and maintain clear and engaging volunteer role descriptions and position advertisements.

  • Promote volunteer opportunities through appropriate channels including social media, PMI VRMS, and Seek Volunteer.

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment processes, including advertising roles, screening applications, and scheduling interviews.

  • Maintain a database of volunteer applications and ensure accurate records of recruitment activities.

  • Assist in creating and updating volunteer profiles and documentation as part of the recruitment process.

  • Provide regular updates on recruitment activities and outcomes to the Associate Director – Volunteer Experience.

  • Help coordinate recruitment campaigns and events to attract and inform prospective volunteers.

  • Ensure all recruitment practices align with PMIQ’s values, diversity, and inclusion principles.

Desired Skillsets

  • Recruitment and screening skills (application review, interview coordination)

  • Strong written and verbal communication, especially for crafting outreach and promotional material

  • Strong networking skills.

  • Time management and ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.

  • Basic data management and reporting (e.g., tracking applicants, recruitment metrics)

  • Digital literacy, including using collaboration tools (e.g., MS Office, Trello or similar platforms)

  • Approachable and personable, with strong interpersonal sensitivity

Experience

  • Proactive and self-motivated with a passion for volunteer engagement
  • PMI® Member and Queensland Chapter Member desired but not required.
  • Strong understanding of recruitment processes (end-to-end hiring cycle)

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Familiarity with the not-for-profit/volunteer sector in Queensland (desirable)
  • PMI and PMI Queensland membership (an advantage)
