Volunteer Opportunities – Help Change Lives Through Sport Boxing Beyond Barriers Ltd is a registered Australian charity using boxing, mentoring and sport to help young people build confidence, improve school engagement and create positive futures.

We're looking for passionate volunteers to join our growing team in two exciting areas. Whether you have sporting experience, coaching skills, retail experience or simply want to make a difference, we'd love to hear from you.

  1. Volunteer Boxing Coaches & Youth Mentors

We're also seeking volunteer boxing coaches and mentors to assist with our community and school-based programs across Brisbane.

You don't need to be an elite boxing coach—we're looking for positive role models who enjoy working with young people.

Volunteer duties may include:

  • Assisting with boxing sessions
  • Supporting lead coaches during school programs
  • Mentoring young people
  • Encouraging teamwork, discipline and confidence

  • Interest in boxing, sport or community work
  • Ability to work as part of a team

Experience in boxing, coaching, youth work, teaching, retail, sport or community services is welcomed but not essential.

Training and support will be provided.

A Blue Card will be required for anyone working directly with young people. About Boxing Beyond Barriers

Since 2011, our programs have supported thousands of young people across Queensland through schools, community organisations and our boxing gym.

Our mission is to create opportunities for young people through mentoring, education, employment pathways and sport.

Every volunteer helps us reach more young people who need positive role models and support.

Why Volunteer With Us?

As our charity continues to grow, we're committed to creating pathways into paid employment.

Many volunteers will have opportunities to develop skills and may be considered for future paid roles, including:

  • Boxing coaching
  • School program delivery
  • Community mentoring
  • Sports Recycle Hub operations
  • Events and administration

You'll also receive:

The Impact You'll Make

Every pair of boots sorted, every boxing session supported and every young person encouraged helps us build stronger futures.

Your time will directly contribute to:

  • Improving young people's confidence
  • Supporting school engagement
  • Creating affordable access to sporting equipment
  • Funding charity programs
  • Creating future employment opportunities for disadvantaged young people

Together, we can remove barriers and create opportunities through sport.
