Bethania Community Centre is looking for a friendly and community-minded volunteer to become our Men's Community Host. This rewarding role is about creating opportunities for conversation, connection, and belonging through casual catch-ups, BBQs, guest speakers, and social activities.
You don't need to be a counsellor or facilitator—just someone who enjoys talking with people, making others feel welcome, and helping build a stronger community.
About Bethania Community Centre

Key duties
As our Men's Community Host, you will:
- Welcome members and new visitors in a friendly and inclusive manner.
- Help organise and coordinate regular men's group gatherings.
- Assist with BBQs, morning teas, guest speakers, and community activities.
- Encourage conversation and help foster a welcoming atmosphere.
- Support members to build friendships and meaningful social connections.
- Work alongside staff and volunteers to develop new ideas and activities for the group.
- Assist with setting up and packing away for meetings and events.
- Help promote the group within the local community.
Skills and experience
No previous experience is necessary. We're looking for someone who is:
- Friendly, approachable, and a good listener.
- Passionate about supporting their local community.
- Reliable and able to work as part of a team.
- Comfortable chatting with people from a variety of backgrounds.
- Organised and willing to help coordinate activities.
- Positive, encouraging, and inclusive.
Experience in community groups, customer service, events, mentoring, or volunteering is welcomed but not essential.
