Women’s & Children’s Volunteer

Barwon Health Volunteer Services

Advertised by Volunteering Geelong

The Women’s & Children’s Volunteer role provides an opportunity to make a meaningful difference to patients, families and visitors within the unit during what can often be emotional or challenging times.

This is a non-clinical, non-administrative role focused on supporting patients and families. Volunteers are fully supported and supervised by the Volunteer Services team and ward staff within the Women’s & Children’s unit, with clear guidance, training, and ongoing support provided at all times.

Volunteers benefit from being part of a supportive team environment, developing valuable communication and interpersonal skills, and gaining experience in a healthcare setting. The role also provides the opportunity to contribute positively to patient and family experiences and to be part of a service that makes a genuine difference in people’s hospital journey
