Cub Scout Leader or Adult Helper – Liddelow Scout Group
Advertised by Volunteering WA
Would you like to support 8-10 year-olds as they grow from kids to confident pre-teens, within a framework expressly designed to protect them from harm? In Scouts, 8-10yo’s learn to organise and run their own activities, supported by adults, as they explore nature and the outdoors, engage with the local community, and discover their own abilities in a myriad of areas. Cub Scouts learn leadership skills and teamwork, safety skills, and earn badges for all of these things, as well as for pursuing their own hobbies and interests. No previous experience in outdoor activities is required (we will train you!), but you will get to do (and lead) bushwalking, bushcraft and camping, and will also have opportunities to pursue other adventurous activities like abseiling, cycling, snorkelling, archery and canoeing. You can also earn nationally-recognised qualifications at very minimal cost, through assessment of what you’ve learned and done in Scouts and elsewhere. Liddelow Cub Unit meets from 7-8:30pm most Tuesdays during school terms, with other activities on occasional weekends.
