Marymead CatholicCare Canberra & Goulburn, a well-respected, not-for-profit organisation servicing the ACT and southern and western regional areas of NSW, has been delivering a range of high quality, individual and family support services (children, young people and their families) for over 60 years.
Marymead CatholicCare Canberra & Goulburn is the social services agency of the Catholic Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn. Providing person-centred services in times of need, to make a positive difference, across the lifespan.
Our Allied Health Services Portfolio provides therapeutic family, child and young person, mental health and psycho-education programs aimed at transforming the lives of vulnerable children and young people including the Circle of Security – Intensive parenting course (COS-I).
The Circle of Security Intensive Program aims to improve attachment between parent/carers and their children, thus facilitating healthy, rewarding relationships, and improving emotional well-being. In order to participate in this group with minimal distraction or barriers to participation, we provide care for clients' children during the session.
We are currently facilitating a group on a Tuesday morning that will run until mid-December 2026. The volunteer will work alongside our experienced childminder. The volunteer is required from 9:45am -11.45 pm weekly.
Tasks may include:
• Care for and ensure the safety of children whilst parents attend the COS-I program
• Interact positively with children
• Provision of engaging activities for the children
• Set up and pack up of any activities
• Completion of a short online child safeguarding training module
• Additional tasks such as administration or compiling activity packs if participant numbers are low
• Other tasks as required
For additional support during the project, you will be supported by the program manager, team leader, and HR.
You will undergo a comprehensive organisational induction before commencing in the position.
We are seeking a volunteer for Tuesday mornings for an immediate start, until mid-December, from 9.45 am to 11.45 am.
