WesleyCare Wynnum Services are a Specialist Disability Accommodation Community that makes a difference to the lives of adults with complex and high support needs. We are looking for enthusiastic people who enjoy getting involved and helping facilitate a range of fun and meaningful activities, this role focuses on delivering hands‑on creative sessions such as music, art, craft, relaxation activities, and other lifestyle‑based experiences that support wellbeing, self‑expression, and skill building.
In this role, you'll build positive rapport and strong relationships with residents, the team, and other volunteers, helping create a warm and inclusive environment. The Activity Support Volunteer assists staff in delivering engaging, meaningful, and person-centred activities for participants living in Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA). The role focuses on supporting individuals to participate in activities that align with their interests, goals, and abilities.
Volunteers enhance the lives of our residents by:
- Assisting staff with preparing and facilitating small-group and one-on-one activities.
- Assisting staff with tidying up after activities and maintaining activity materials and equipment.
- Creating a safe, inclusive, and enjoyable environment that supports participants of all abilities.
- Encouraging participation, creativity, independence and social interaction.
- Communicating resident feedback back to staff to assist in improving both the activity and resident enjoyment.
Volunteering hours available for this role are available Monday to Friday, depending on your availability.

All our volunteers follow a COVID-19 safe work plan and provide proof they have received a minimum of one primary COVID-19 vaccination before they are registered in their role.
Volunteers will also be required to have a current NDIS Workers Screening Clearance prior to commencement. This can be applied for through Wesley Mission Queensland at no cost to you.
