The Vinnies Supply Centre is a central hub supporting the operations of the St Vincent de Paul Society NSW across the state. It plays a vital role in processing, managing, and distributing resources and merchandise used in the Society’s day-to-day activities.
From essential supplies for community support to retail and operational materials, the Supply Centre ensures that Conferences, services, and programs are equipped to serve people in need efficiently. It is an essential part of enabling Vinnies to deliver timely and effective support to the community.
Role Overview
In this role, you will support our Supply Centre operations by assisting with order processing, stock handling, and dispatch coordination. You will play an important part in ensuring goods are efficiently prepared and delivered to where they are needed most.
This is a great opportunity for volunteers who are looking to contribute in a meaningful, behind-the-scenes role within a supportive and team-oriented environment.
You will work alongside staff and volunteers and gain hands-on experience in logistics, retail operations, and administration. We are looking for reliable and organised volunteers who enjoy practical tasks and working as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Ordering merchandise and supplies
- Picking and packing orders accurately
- Assisting with invoicing tasks
- Recording weights and dimensions for shipments
- Booking and coordinating postage and courier services
- Maintaining accurate records in line with our policies and procedures
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Good attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to follow processes and work independently or in a team
- Basic computer skills or willingness to learn
- A positive and reliable attitude
- Ability to engage respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds
- Adherence to our WHS requirements
- Adherence to St Vincent de Paul NSW policies and procedures
