The Victim Support Service provides court preparation and support services to victims of crime who give evidence in court as well as secondary victims attending proceedings after the death of a partner or family member.

In this highly meaningful and rewarding volunteer role, you would assist professional staff in supporting victims while giving evidence and at sentencing, particularly in the District Court. This support can help ease anxiety and empower individuals during one of the most challenging times in their lives.

Training and mentoring are provided to enable you to develop your skills and knowledge, and we are looking for volunteers who have empathy, a calm and engaging personality, and who have the ability to communicate with victims from all backgrounds in a non-judgemental manner.

Volunteers may work in the Perth courts or the outer metropolitan courts and there is reimbursement for parking expenses. Volunteers are needed between the hours of 9.00am and 5.00pm and will be able to nominate the days they are available for.

Volunteers require a Police Clearance and Working with Children Check.
