Aged Care Volunteer needed for a Gentleman who speaks both English and Serbian

We are looking for a kind and reliable volunteer to visit Radovan, a lovely older gentleman who would love some extra company. Visits can include watching TV or reading the Serbian news together. Radovan speaks both English and Serbian. Speaking Serbian is a wonderful bonus, but it is not a requirement!

All volunteers are required to be 18 years of age or older, to undergo a National Police Check and can expect ongoing support and training from their ACVVS Program Coordinator.

Commitment

Regular - less than 6 months

Training

Training is provided online in addition to ongoing support from your local Volunteer Program Coordinator

Time required

Volunteers are required to visit once per fortnight (although we prefer weekly where possible), duration of visit is up to you. We require a commitment of minimum 6 months to 12 months.

Requirements

Stat Dec if lived overseas past the age of 16 years for 12 months or more. National Police Check or WWVP. 18 years or older. Two referee checks conducted by Ageing with Grace.
