Landscaping & Grounds Volunteer
Advertised by Volunteer South West IncorporatedThis is a weekly, hands on, collaborative role for people who enjoy working with nature and contributing to a heritage restoration project of regional significance. The team’s work goes far beyond gardening, it involves ecological planning, native plant propagation, and creating self sustaining habitats that support both flora and fauna within the Tuart Forest ecosystem. Volunteers work together to establish and maintain native landscapes that thrive with minimal intervention. Tasks include germinating seeds, taking cuttings, and planting micro forests guided by DBCA’s approved native species list. The group also prepares seedlings in the glasshouse, manages watering schedules, and undertakes occasional weeding and site care. The team collaborates closely with Jan, our horticulturalist, whose expertise ensures that every planting decision supports biodiversity and long term forest health. Members often assist across other Ludlow activities, from school planting days to café operations and event setup, reflecting the group’s broad contribution to the community.
