Volunteer - Bookkeeper

300 Blankets is a 100% volunteer-run not-for-profit charity dedicated to supporting people experiencing or at risk of homelessness in Victoria. Through our Outreach and Soul Kitchen programs, our volunteers provide friendship, food, and essential support to people in our community who need it most.
Behind every meal and every outreach walk is a financial foundation that needs to be as strong as the mission it supports. We’re looking for a purpose-driven Bookkeeper (3 to 4 hours per month) to support the Treasurer and help ensure our operations remain sustainable and transparent.
You’ll join a diverse, passionate management team committed to making a meaningful difference in the community. The role offers the opportunity to contribute your professional skills while also shaping how we grow, improve and operate as a charity.

Principal accountabilities include:
- Record all monthly transactions in accounting systems
- Lead preparation of monthly management reporting
- Conduct periodic reconciliations of all bank accounts to ensure their accuracy
- Prepare financial analysis as to support program and growth initiatives
- Lead preparation of annual financial statements
- Assemble information for external auditors for the annual audit
- Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
