**What this role requires:

** Volunteers in this role should have passion & experience with:

  • Event planning and coordinating including the creation of event schedules and communicating with participants ahead of event day, and preparing other volunteers delivering events

  • Proactive and professional communication and engagement with participants at events

  • Directing people and guiding people to complete and participate in pre-determined activities at events

  • Ensuring all participants are participating in accordance with Lamp Creatives values and requirements

  • Ensuring all participants have fun with the opportunity to learn and grow within in a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment and culture

Volunteers in this role are required to commit to a mix of in-person and online volunteering responsibilities, as outlined in the "time required" section:

  • Minimum in-person commitment: one event per month (3 hours) + content creating with the team twice per month (6 hours per month). Typically in-person attendance/participation is commonly Saturday or Sunday mornings or afternoons.

  • Minimum online/remote commitment: 2 hours per week.

This volunteer role requires individuals with the following interpersonnal skills:

  • Friendly and welcoming (e.g. engage participants at events and the public)

  • Confident speaking to a large group, holding their attention

  • Confident leader who can plan and manage events including location, communicating with prospective participants, providing event information, and coordinating volunteers and participants on event day

  • Reliable and commited (e.g. ensure you attend the events you are responsible for, and ensure you are punctual and meeting deadlines)

  • Professional and proactive (e.g. communicating and responding in a timely manner, participating with professional integrity and behaviour, and upholding your role responsibilities)

  • Passion and understanding for creatives and/or the creative industry

**What type of settings will you work in and day-in-the-life of your role?

** Each month, Lamp Creatives Collaborative run different types of events or projects such as workshops, productions and tutorials. Please see the Lamp Creatives instagram page to see behind-the-scenes examples in reels and stories. Different events are attended by different creative: photographers, models, videographers, stylists, directors, actors, film-makers, fashion designers, and more. The events provide opportunities for creatives to develop their professional skills in a safe and engaging way.

Coordinators will be allocated to specific events, and be responsible for the even'ts end-to-end event planning and coordinating including:

  • Liaising with participants signing up for events and ensuring they are informed and give commitment to events

  • preparing volunteers and resources or materials for the event

  • Instructing participants when they can break into groups/pairs, and when they need to return to the collective group at events

  • Keeping time and ensuring the event runs to schedule

  • Engaging with participants 1:1 and ensuring people feel welcomed, supported, safe, and positive

  • Ensuring the culture and standards of Lamp Creatives are upheld by all participants throughout the activities

  • Ensure all events conclude with requirements completed by volunteers and participants

**Application Requirements

  1. Your weekly hours capacity to volunteer remotely (online)
  2. Acknowledgement you have visited and watched content on the website and social media page
  3. Confirmation you can commit to the in-person and online requirements
  4. Your experience and knowledge with event management
  5. Process you take to ensure a succesful event
  6. Your experience managing difficult situations where people in a group were not participating in an appropriate way or participating as required
  7. How long you feel you can commit for (less than or more than the next 6 months etc)
  8. When you are available for a video/phone interview
  9. When you would be available to start volunteering
