General Manager, Growth

About the Role
The General Manager, Growth leads Dodgeball Australia's participation growth — overseeing community programs, membership, affiliates, and equipment access to ensure more Australians discover, play, and stay connected to the sport. This is a senior leadership role reporting directly to the Director.
Key Responsibilities
Growth Strategy
- Develop and execute DA's annual strategy across programs, membership, affiliates, and equipment access
- Set participation and membership growth targets aligned to the Strategic & Operational Plan
- Report monthly to the Director on Growth outcomes, membership data, affiliate health, and risks
- Partner with the GM of Elite on athlete development pathways connecting participation to high-performance
Programs Oversight
- Provide strategic oversight of DA's community programs — school programs, social competitions, and UniSport
- Support the Programs Manager with planning, delivery, and post-program review
- Identify new program opportunities that grow participation in underrepresented communities
Membership & Affiliates
- Own DA's membership strategy — acquisition, retention, and engagement
- Manage DA's affiliate network — onboarding, relationship management, compliance, and support
- Develop and maintain the affiliate framework (standards, obligations, benefits) with the Director
- Serve as DA's primary point of contact for clubs and affiliated organisations
People Leadership
- Oversee equipment sales (balls, gear) to clubs and affiliates — accessibility and fair pricing
- Directly manage the Programs Manager, Membership Coordinator, and future Affiliates Coordinator
- Monitor volunteer health and workload; flag concerns to the HR Manager
What We're Looking For
- Experience in community sport, programs management, or membership/affiliate organisations
- Strategic thinker who can translate growth targets into actionable plans
- Relationship builder comfortable serving as the primary liaison for clubs and affiliated organisations
- People leader who can manage a team of volunteers across programs, membership, and affiliates
Key Performance Indicators
- Timely monthly submissions to the Board
- Membership growth year-on-year; contribution to 20% increase in participation from underrepresented groups
- Active affiliate agreements in place with all registered clubs; no lapsed affiliates without follow-up
- Community programs delivered on schedule and within budget
- Sound working relationships maintained with all principal stakeholders and affiliates
