Branch Store Person

Key responsibilities
Volunteers in this role will assist with a range of operational and stock-related tasks, including:
- Receiving and checking incoming deliveries
- Unpacking and distributing stock to appropriate areas
- Storing and organising stock in designated locations
- Supporting the processing of stock orders as required
- Maintaining tidy and accessible storage areas
- Assisting branch volunteers with additional operational duties when needed
As the role develops, there may be opportunities to broaden responsibilities depending on branch needs and volunteer capability.
Time commitment & scheduling
Deliveries are currently scheduled between 7:00am and 11:00am, Monday to Friday, depending on branch requirements and delivery schedules.
At this stage, exact delivery times may vary and cannot always be confirmed in advance. More detailed scheduling information will be provided as planning is finalised and operational routines are established.
This role requires flexibility, particularly during the initial rollout phase, while processes are being embedded and delivery patterns are refined.
Skills and attributes
We’re looking for volunteers who are:
- Reliable and punctual, especially during morning shifts
- Comfortable with physical, hands-on work - manual handling (e.g. lifting, moving stock)
- Ability to work in cold storage areas
- Organised and able to follow simple instructions
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Flexible and adaptable during a trial and setup period
- Positive and willing to assist where needed
No prior logistics or warehouse experience is required. All training and support will be provided.
Support & training
All volunteers will receive an induction and on-the-job support from branch staff. This is a supported role, and procedures will be clearly explained, particularly during the initial rollout phase as processes are refined.
