Board of Directors Western Australian Head & Neck Cancer Support Foundation are seeking expressions of interest to fill two volunteer Board of Management positions as appointed directors. About Us Western Australian Head & Neck Cancer Support Foundation is the first and only charity in Western Australia dedicated to the provision of assistance to individuals and organisations that provides services in support of Head & Neck Cancer. This includes:  Treatment and Rehabilitation;  Research;  Advocacy;  Survivorship; and  Promote, encourage public awareness and support and education. Western Australian Head & Neck Cancer Support Foundation purpose is to raise money to provide public awareness, support for patients of Head & Neck Cancer, education and money to assist in research regarding diagnosis, treatment and management of Head & Neck Cancer. Who We Are Looking For? With the recent establishment of this charity in Western Australia we are looking for individuals with knowledge or skills/experience in one or more of the following areas:  Senior Leadership in Not-For-Profit corporate or Business organisations;  Proven capability to provide strategic and sound corporate governance oversight;  Legal and/or Company Compliance;  Finance and Treasury, including growth plans, fundraising and financial sustainability;  Medical or Associated (Pharmacist) experience.  A knowledge of the current issues affecting cancer patients.

What is expected:  Attend the Board meeting as per agreed by the Board;  Review Board papers and other proposals ahead of each Board meeting;  Provide visionary strategic leadership and exceptional governance;  Contribute to decision making and provide advice in your area/s of expertise;  Work towards achieving Western Australian Head & Neck Cancer Support Foundation strategic and financial goals;  Participate and represent the Board at sub-committee meetings and events as required. It is envisaged that the Board will meet up to three times per year, in the first year in Perth Western Australia. Video conferencing is available for Board members located outside the Perth metropolitan area or/who are unable to attend in person. Travel allowance is not available. The appointed Director is an unpaid (volunteer) non-executive position. Western Australian Head & Neck Cancer Support Foundation aims to have a Board that is diverse in terms of age, gender, race, sexual orientation, cultural background and lived experience to reflect the communities it serves. All applications will be assessed against:  Relevant knowledge and skills/experience identified above;  Expertise in a profession that would add value to the Board (social work, finance, education, legal, medical, HR, marketing, health, fundraising, leadership, strategy);  Previous experience as a Board Director while preferable but is not essential;  The capacity to devote the necessary time to undertake the responsibilities of a director.
