Why Join Us?

Access to quality specialist palliative care across the Asia-Pacific region is often limited by insufficient government support, constrained funding, and fewer opportunities for education and professional development; however, these contexts are also characterised by culturally and spiritually rich communities, strong social expectations around caring for one another, bilingual and multicultural environments, and innovative approaches shaped by working within limited resources. In contrast, Australia and New Zealand often benefit from stronger funding and well-developed education systems for specialist palliative care, but face different challenges, including the complexity introduced by advanced curative treatments and less exposure to community-led, culturally rich, and resourceful models of care. APLI brings together the strengths of both regions for support the health professionals who care for people in their last chapter of life.
