Graphic Design/Digital Media Volunteer

Rebecca Jane Foundation

This role gives our volunteers a chance to make a difference in the lives of families who face the unimaginable loss of a baby.
Creating digital and printable graphics that present our charity to the public.

Role Responsibilities

• Manage and update the Foundation's website as a content editor — drafting, proofing, and publishing copy using our CMS (Wagtail)

• Design promotional materials and graphics for campaigns, events, and donor outreach

• Support email marketing efforts and donor communications

• Ensure all messaging is consistent with the Foundation's values, brand guidelines, and tone of voice

• Collaborate with the team to coordinate content across channels

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Digital Marketing — Practical experience in social media management, email marketing platforms, and online donor communications

• Graphic Design — Proficiency in Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or similar tools for producing campaign and promotional materials

• CMS Editing — Comfortable working as a content editor within a CMS environment (creating, editing, publishing, and proofing web content); prior CMS experience in any platform is expected

• Communication — Ability to craft clear, compelling, and sensitive messaging appropriate for audiences touched by grief and loss

• Organisation — Capable of managing multiple deliverables and deadlines with minimal supervision

• Tech Literacy — Genuinely comfortable with web-based tools and platforms; G-Suite proficiency required

• Passion for the Cause — A sincere commitment to supporting grieving families and the mission of the Rebecca Jane Foundation

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with Wagtail, Django, WordPress, Drupal, or similar CMS/web frameworks — particularly any hands-on development or configuration experience

• Experience with CRM platforms or donor management systems

• Background in brochure or print design for charity or community organisations

• Understanding of web analytics and engagement metrics

Training & Support

Full training is provided in the Foundation's protocols, values, and the specific sensitivities of working within the funeral and bereavement sector. Candidates are expected to bring their own digital and technology skills — ongoing support from Foundation directors will focus on organisational context, not technical onboarding.

General Requirements

• Access to a computer, phone, and reliable internet connection

• Willingness to follow Foundation protocols and complete sector-specific induction

• Alignment with the Foundation's values and sensitivity to the communities it serves
