We are looking for a kind and friendly, mature female volunteer (50s, 60s, or 70s) who speaks Arabic (Iraqi dialect preferred) and enjoys spending time with older people.

No prior experience is needed, just a warm heart, reliability, patience, and a genuine interest in connecting with someone.

Our older person enjoys chatting in her own language and would love the company of someone who can share conversations, stories, and occasional outings together.

If you have an hour to spare each week or fortnight and would like to make a positive difference in someone’s life, we would love to hear from you.

The Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS) is a government-funded program that helps reduce social isolation and create meaningful connections for older people.

As a Volunteer Visitor, you will spend regular time with an older person, ideally weekly or at least fortnightly, building a friendly relationship through conversation, shared interests, and activities.

This role can be a rewarding experience for both you and the person you visit. A simple chat, a friendly visit, or going out together can bring happiness, confidence, and a stronger sense of connection.

All volunteers are required to complete a National Police Check and will receive ongoing support and training from an ACVVS Program Coordinator.
