Volunteer Costume Coordinator

Key Responsibilities You can choose to focus on one area or help across all three: Costume Sourcing: Work with the Director to source outfits through our existing MPtc wardrobe storage, local op shops, hire places, or online platforms. Wardrobe Management: Coordinate and run actor fittings at Bellamy Hall, ensuring outfits are comfortable, safe, and fit the character. Sewing & Alterations: Perform necessary stitching adjustments, hem lines, add embellishments, or repair costumes during the technical and dress rehearsal runs. Backstage Maintenance: Help label costumes and ensure garments are neatly hung and organised in the dressing rooms during show week.
What We’re Looking For For Sourcing/Coordinating: An eye for style, detail, and historical periods, plus excellent organisational skills. For Sewing/Altering: Basic to advanced sewing skills (hand stitching or machine sewing) and your own reliable sewing machine at home. For Everyone: A patient, encouraging manner when working with actors of all ages during fittings.
