About The Orangutan Project The Orangutan Project is a highly impactful non-profit organisation dedicated to the conservation of critically endangered orangutans and the protection of their rainforest habitats. We fund essential on-the-ground projects, including rainforest reforestation, wildlife rescue teams, and habitat protection patrols.

Purpose of the Role To act as the logistical anchor for local market stalls, ensuring the physical kit and stock get to the venue safely so our casual volunteers can just show up and fundraise. If you love smooth logistics and want a leadership role without the heavy administrative burden, this is for you!

Key Tasks (Flexible, approx. 3–4 hours per market):

  • Receive a pre-booked market date and location from our team. Arrange the transport of the local merchandise box/equipment to the venue.
  • Review the self-serve digital roster to ensure shifts are filled by volunteers.
  • Act as the emergency point of contact for volunteers on the day of the market.
  • Ensure the physical stock box and card reader return safely to storage post-market.

What you DO NOT have to do

  • You do not need to spend hours researching markets online.
  • You do not have to manually call or email people to build a roster.
  • You do not have to handle backend insurance paperwork or banking.

Skills and Experience Needed

  • Highly reliable, organised, and a good communicator.
  • Access to a vehicle and a valid driver's license (to transport the physical merchandise box/kit to the market venue).
  • Comfortable checking a shared online spreadsheet/roster.

The Impact You'll Make: Community markets are our primary source of public fundraising and awareness. By ensuring the physical stall gear safely makes it to the venue, you are single-handedly enabling our entire ground crew to fundraise. Your logistical support directly translates into real dollars used to secure critical rainforest habitats.
