Volunteer Companion Wanted – Make a Meaningful Difference   Do you enjoy great conversation, music, and outdoors? We're looking for a compassionate volunteer to build a genuine friendship with an older gentleman at our residential aged care home in Maddington. He loves listening to music, being outside, and having thoughtful, engaging conversations. Your role would simply be to spend around 2 hours each week together sharing a chat, enjoying each other's company, and building a meaningful connection over time.   Our resident is a proud member of the LGBTIQA+ community. We are not specifically seeking an LGBTIQA+ volunteer, but we are looking for someone who is accepting, inclusive, and respectful of who he is. The most important qualities are kindness, openness, and a genuine interest in getting to know him.   As a companion volunteer, you will:

  • Visit once a week for approximately 2 hours.
  • Share conversations and companionship.
  • Help reduce social isolation by building a trusted, ongoing friendship.
  • Complete our online training.

If you're a good listener, enjoy connecting with people from all walks of life, and would like to make a lasting difference in someone's life, we'd love to hear from you. Your time could become the highlight of someone's week.   If you have any questions, please call our Volunteer Lead on 0436 936 444.
