🪚 Woodwork & Workshop Skills Volunteer Instructor
Advertised by Busselton Dunsborough Volunteer Centre
LAMP Busselton is seeking a skilled, patient volunteer to teach community members how to safely and confidently use tools and equipment in a workshop setting. This role suits a retired carpenter, builder, cabinetmaker, or former woodwork teacher who enjoys sharing practical knowledge and supporting others to build confidence.
🪚 You’ll guide participants through safe tool handling, demonstrate practical workbench techniques, and help them understand the basics of measuring, cutting, drilling, assembling, and general workshop practice. 👀 Maintaining a safe learning environment is central to the role—supervising tool use, reinforcing safety procedures, and modelling best practice. 👨🏫 You’ll provide calm, supportive instruction to individuals or small groups, adapting your teaching style to different skill levels and encouraging learners as they progress. 🤝 A friendly, encouraging approach is essential, helping people feel comfortable, capable, and proud of what they achieve. 🛟 You may also help identify simple, achievable projects suited to beginners, ensuring sessions are engaging and confidence‑building.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on teaching, values safety, and loves seeing others grow through practical skill development.
