Kororoit Creek Neighbourhood House (KCNH) is a community-managed Neighbourhood House and Eco-Living Centre providing a diverse range of programs, workshops, activities and events to the communities of Albion, Ardeer and broader Brimbank area. KCNH offers a space for all community members to connect and participate.
Position description:
The Library of Things is a community-based initiative that allows local residents to borrow a range of useful items, from tools and appliances to household equipment. The Volunteer Coordinator will play a key role in keeping this service running smoothly by working with personnel to establish and maintain loan and return procedures to keep our tools well-maintained and organised.
This role involves:
- Overseeing the lending database via LendEngine
- Working with staff and fellow volunteers to establish an easy-to-maintain protocol for loans and tool maintenance
- Keeping track of the condition of lent items and establishing a maintenance schedule in partnership with our monthly Repair Cafe
- Ensuring the Library of Things cupboards remain tidy and organised.

Kororoit Creek Neighbourhood House, 61A Selwyn St, Albion
Skills required:
We are keen to hear from Volunteers who are:
- Experienced with lending libraries or the use of equipment and membership management software
- Reliable and punctual.
- Friendly and approachable.
- Organised and detail oriented.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Able to respond to feedback and work with staff and fellow volunteers
Time required:
2 hours per week preferably during KCNH opening hours
Commitment required:
6 months or longer
Others requirement:
- Participate in initial interview
- Working with children and police check (at KCNH’s cost)
