Lifestyle Markets Australia Inc. (LMA) is a registered charity and not-for-profit organisation that brings communities together through family focused fundraisers, markets and events across Victoria. All proceeds support Kinds of Happiness (KOH), a charity dedicated to empowering disadvantaged youth in regional and rural Australia through mentoring, farming programs, and skills development.

ROLE PURPOSE
As an IT Technical & Web Developer, you will provide essential technical support with a strong focus on foundational programming, backend architecture, and web development. You will be responsible for building and maintaining our technical infrastructure, managing servers, and assisting with system upgrades while also supporting general IT operations and cross-departmental problem-solving.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
PROGRAMMING & DEVELOPMENT
- Develop, update, and maintain scripts and automations primarily using Google AppScript (modified
- JavaScript).
- Assist in transitioning and developing future projects using JavaScript, Node.js, Python, and FastAPI.
- Set up and maintain basic HTTP servers using Node.js or FastAPI.
- Apply basic Model-View-Controller (MVC) architecture concepts and handle dependency management for internal projects.
PLATFORM & SYSTEMS ARCHITECTURE
- Navigate and manage deployments within Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Linux environments.
- Identify and resolve website issues, display problems, and maintain the technical backend of our web presence.
OPERATIONAL IT & COLLABORATION
- Manage Google Workspace administration, including account setups, security, and permissions management.
- Attend cross-departmental meetings (outside of standard IT meetings) to understand broader organizational needs, propose technical improvements, and troubleshoot general issues.
- Provide general IT support and respond to requests from different areas across the organisation.
- Utilize Notion for tracking, managing, and documenting IT tasks and projects.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL
- Proficiency in programming with Google AppScript and/or JavaScript.
- Foundational knowledge and hands-on experience with server-side programming (Node.js, Python, or FastAPI).
- Understanding of basic HTTP server creation, MVC architecture, and dependency management.
- Familiarity with operating in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Linux environments.
- Comfortable using Notion for task and project management.
- Willingness and availability to attend weekly IT team meetings on Sunday mornings.
DESIRABLE
- Experience with Google Workspace administration (account and permissions).
- Able to explain technical concepts clearly to people with varying levels of technical confidence.
- Previous experience volunteering or working within a not-for-profit or community organisation.
