Community Outreach Volunteer

Second Chances SA Incorporated

Advertised by Southern Volunteering (SA) Inc

For many women, children, and vulnerable individuals, escaping violence often means facing the very real risk of homelessness. The Community Outreach Program will serve as a central hub where people can access housing support, case management, mentoring, practical assistance, life-skills development, financial wellbeing programs, and community connection opportunities. By bringing these supports together in one trusted location, the program aims to remove barriers, reduce service fragmentation, and ensure that no one has to navigate crisis alone. This groundbreaking service will provide a safe and supportive environment for women and children escaping violence, offering immediate refuge while connecting them with the services and resources needed to rebuild their lives.

More than a response to immediate need, this program is an investment in prevention, recovery, and community wellbeing. Through early intervention, strong partnerships, and compassionate support, Second Chances is committed to breaking cycles of violence, homelessness, and disadvantage while creating safer, stronger, and more resilient communities across southern Adelaide.

Community Outreach volunteers will support the women and children in the house, be a listening ear, assist with cleaning and food prep, transport to appointments, make plans and referrals, case notes of progress, and just provide overall help.

No qualifications are needed as full training is provided.

Together, we can provide hope, safety, and a genuine second chance for those who need it most.
