Make a genuine impact in someone's life through the power of friendship. MND Queensland is looking for caring volunteers to provide social companionship to people living with Motor Neurone Disease who may be experiencing social isolation. About MND Queensland: MND Queensland is a leading organisation wholly focussed on supporting people living with Motor Neurone Disease and their families, friends, and carers. We offer understanding and practical assistance by delivering information, education and specialist support services. By spending time together and sharing common interests, you'll help create meaningful social connections and brighten someone's week. You will:
- Enjoy regular social visits and conversations
- Share hobbies and interests
- Provide companionship and emotional connection
You won't:
- Provide personal care or manual handling
- Transport clients
- Assist with essential daily living tasks (e.g. accompany clients to medical appointments, food preparation)
We're looking for people who are:
- Friendly and compassionate
- Good communicators and listeners
- Able to commit to regular visits for 3+ months
- Willing to obtain an NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (Yellow Card)
Location: We support people throughout Queensland
When: Flexible volunteer opportunity based on client request, needs and availability

This is an Expression of Interest (EOI) only and does not guarantee an immediate volunteer placement. Our Community Visitor Program operates on a request basis, with volunteers matched to people living with Motor Neurone Disease as needs arise across Queensland. After receiving your EOI, we will keep your details on file and contact you when a suitable match becomes available in your area. Matching is based on factors such as location, availability, interests, and the preferences and needs of clients.
Share your time, kindness and interests to make a lasting difference in the lives of Queenslanders living with Motor Neurone Disease. Please note: Our volunteer personal accident insurance requires volunteers to be at least 12 years old. Children aged 14 and under must attend with a parent. Insurance coverage is provided up to age 75. Volunteers aged over 75 may still participate but should be aware that insurance coverage is limited.
