Term: 3 Years
Term Extension: A single 3-year term extension subject to approval by the relevant Volunteer Manager.
Purpose The State Nursing Officer’s role is to provide St John Ambulance Queensland with high-level advice pertaining to nursing practice, and to oversee the development and execution of policy, projects, and other activities in support of the strategic vision for the Health Services volunteer programs.
**Key Responsibilities **
- Provide high level advice and deliver on matters pertaining to nursing practice and medication management within SJAQ relating to the Health Services volunteer programs.
- Contribute to the Leadership within the Clinical Systems Group and associated clinical governance and credentialing-related policies and procedures.
- Lead and assist in the development of the policy, procedures, and guidelines relating to nursing practices (RN/EN) within SJAQ.
- Lead and participate in various working groups and projects as a representative for Nursing and/or the Clinical Systems Group.
- Lead a small team of nursing positions such as the Deputy role, infection control and other positions as required.
- Lead and assist with the development and presentation of briefing papers and positions on issues relating to nursing practice within SJAQ.
- Contribute meaningfully to an efficiency and effective Event Health Services (EHS) operations team and Senior Leadership team.
- Contribute to Event Health Service in-field activities such as clinical nursing, supervision, and leadership positions.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by your manager as needed
