Fauna Rescue of South Australia (Fauna Rescue SA) is seeking a volunteer Senior Bookkeeper to support the end-to-end processing of its financial transactions and events. The work of the Senior Bookkeeper will be overseen and supported by the Fauna Rescue SA Treasurer. This is a new and highly valued role, essential to the effective management of Fauna Rescue SA’s financial gifts and in support of its mission of wildlife conservation and care.

Flexible Work Arrangements: Within month-end and statutory reporting timeframes, the work can be done at a time and place that suits the individual.

Key Capabilities:

• Expertise in end-to-end financial operations, including accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, BAS preparation and month-end reporting.

• Financial data accuracy and attention to detail.

• Strong knowledge of accounting standards, compliance requirements and internal controls.

• Exposure to accounting software and ability to use small business accounting packages such as Xero or MYOB.

• Intermediate Excel skills.

• Ability to work independently in the bookkeeper role and collaboratively with members, the Treasurer and the Management Committee on financial administration.

• An interest in helping wildlife without necessarily wanting to directly care for animals.

• Experience in financial administration of a not-for profit is desirable, but not essential.
