Volunteer Grant Writer

Help Secure Funding That Changes Lives
Our Mate-Ship Limited is an ACNC-registered charity providing free "Wellness on Water" experiences for current and former Defence personnel, Emergency Services members, their families, carers and other vulnerable members of our community.
We're looking for a passionate and organised Volunteer Grant Writer & Funding Coordinator to help us secure the funding needed to expand our impact. This role can be completed remotely or by working alongside our Founder from our Sunshine Coast office one day per week.
Key responsibilities Research grant databases and funding opportunities. Review eligibility criteria and assess suitable opportunities. Maintain a grants calendar and monitor application deadlines. Prepare and submit grant applications. Gather supporting information, budgets and impact data. Assist with grant acquittals and reporting requirements. Help identify sponsorship and partnership opportunities. Work with our Founder to develop compelling funding proposals. About you
You have strong written communication, attention to detail and excellent organisational skills. Experience in grant writing, fundraising, project management or the not-for-profit sector is highly regarded but not essential. Most importantly, you're motivated to make a genuine difference and enjoy working collaboratively.
Why volunteer with us?
You'll receive one-on-one mentoring from our Founder, who has completed approximately 150 grant and funding applications, giving you practical experience that is difficult to gain elsewhere. You'll become part of a passionate, supportive team and directly contribute to programs that improve mental wellbeing and reduce social isolation for those who need it most.
Every successful grant helps us deliver more free boating, fishing, sailing and wellness experiences, meaning your work behind the scenes has a direct and lasting impact on hundreds of people in our community each year.
If this sounds like a role where your skills could make a real difference, we'd love to hear from you.
