Sports Gold Coast is seeking a passionate and organised Volunteer Athlete Liaison & Program Coordinator to support our flagship Grow for Gold program, helping Gold Coast athletes on their journey towards the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with emerging elite athletes, sporting organisations, community leaders and corporate partners while gaining valuable experience in sports administration, athlete management and stakeholder engagement.

About Grow for Gold
Grow for Gold is Sports Gold Coast's athlete support initiative, designed to identify, support and celebrate local athletes with the potential to represent Australia at the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The program provides financial assistance, networking opportunities, media exposure, mentoring and community connections to help athletes perform both on and off the sporting field.
As the Volunteer Athlete Liaison & Program Coordinator, you'll become the primary point of contact for our Grow for Gold athletes, helping ensure they remain engaged, supported and connected throughout the program.
Working alongside the CEO and the Sports Gold Coast team, your responsibilities will include:
- Building strong relationships with Grow for Gold athletes.
- Coordinating athlete communications and program updates.
- Scheduling meetings, appearances and promotional opportunities.
- Assisting with athlete onboarding and maintaining program records.
- Coordinating athlete attendance at Sports Gold Coast events.
- Collecting athlete news, competition results and milestone achievements.
- Managing monthly athlete check-ins and progress updates.
- Supporting the delivery of fundraising, networking and recognition events.
- Liaising with sponsors and partners regarding athlete opportunities.
- Assisting with social media content and athlete storytelling.
- Helping ensure athletes maximise the opportunities available through the program.
We're looking for someone who is:
- Passionate about sport and supporting athletes.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- A confident communicator who enjoys building relationships.
- Friendly, reliable and proactive.
- Comfortable managing multiple tasks and priorities.
- Experienced with Microsoft Office and basic digital platforms.
- Interested in sports management, athlete services, events, marketing or community engagement.
Previous experience in sport is welcomed but certainly not essential.
