About the opportunity
Primary Purpose of the Position
My Community Heroes Inc. is seeking a skilled volunteer to help strengthen its financial systems, reporting processes and audit readiness. Working with the Treasurer and key stakeholders, you will provide practical guidance on developing audit-ready financial statements, implementing low-cost financial management systems, and building internal capability for ongoing financial reporting. This online assignment will support the organisation to improve transparency, accountability and funding confidence, helping sustain and grow festABLE—an inclusive Fraser Coast community event that connects people living with disability, families, carers and the broader community with services, supports and opportunities for participation.
Selection Criteria:
• Registration as a Company Auditor or equivalent relevant auditing/financial assurance expertise
• Experience working with small not-for-profits or community organisations
• Ability to design practical, low-cost financial systems
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build capability in others
• Sensitivity and respect when working with people with lived experience of disability

- 5 years professional experience in the relevant field
- Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident residing in Australia. Australian Citizens residing overseas may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

- Willingness to complete a Working with Children Check
