About the role Join us for an unforgettable day and help make a difference at the TCS Sydney Marathon. We're looking for enthusiastic volunteers to support as a Drink Station Volunteer, you'll be right in the action. A few hours of your time helps thousands of runners go the distance. No experience needed, just good vibes and a willingness to help. Grab your friends, give back to the community, and be part of the magic!
By volunteering, you'll play an important role in helping runners achieve their goals while supporting Cancer Council NSW's vital work in cancer research, prevention, advocacy and support services.
Key tasks of the position
- Engage with event participants and members of the public.
- Provide clear and timely communication with your team and supervisor.
- Be involved in event logistics, including the setup and pack down of the station.
- Fill and hand out water, keep the area clean and safe and cheer runners on as they pass through - including the incredible Cancer Council NSW supporters who are running to help create a cancer-free future.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve shared goals.
- Ensure all hazards and incidents are reported to your supervisor immediately.
About you
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Can conduct assigned tasks with attention to detail and as instructed.
- Ability to work as a team and independently.
- Interest in event delivery.
- Bring initiative and be a solution-oriented problem solver.
