Governance & Policy Project Volunteer (Short-Term)

Location: Remote or Northbridge, WA Commitment: Approximately 40 volunteer hours over 3–6 months

Short Back & Sidewalks is an award-winning Australian not-for-profit providing free haircuts and meaningful connection to people experiencing homelessness, hardship, and social isolation.

We're seeking an experienced volunteer with a background in governance, policy, compliance, human resources, or risk management to support a short-term organisational improvement project.

This is an opportunity to use your professional expertise to strengthen the systems that support our staff, volunteers, and the communities we serve.

In this project, you will:

• Review and update existing organisational policies and procedures

• Identify gaps and develop new policies where required

• Create and maintain a policy register and review framework

• Provide practical governance and compliance recommendations

We're looking for someone who has:

• Experience writing or reviewing policies and procedures

• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills

• Knowledge of governance, compliance, human resources, or risk management

• A passion for supporting a growing national not-for-profit
