Events & Cultural Activities Assistant

The Yazidi Australian Association Incorporated is seeking a dedicated Volunteer Events & Cultural Activities Assistant to support the planning, coordination, and delivery of community events and cultural activities.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised individual with excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and a genuine passion for community engagement and celebrating cultural diversity. Essential Duties Assist with planning, organising, and coordinating community events and cultural celebrations. Support the setup, registration, and pack-down of events and activities. Liaise with volunteers, community members, performers, and event participants. Help promote events through social media, email, and community networks. Assist with preparing event materials, registrations, and attendance records. Support fundraising activities and community engagement initiatives during events. Respond to general event enquiries and provide assistance to attendees. Perform general administrative duties related to event planning and coordination as required. Skills & Experience Reliable, dependable, and punctual. Strong organisational and time management skills. Friendly, approachable, and able to work well with people from diverse cultural backgrounds. Willing to take initiative and work collaboratively as part of a team. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality where required. A genuine interest in community events, cultural activities, and supporting the local community.
