In 2027, Hawthorn Relay For Life is returning as an overnight event, bringing our community together to honour, remember and take action against cancer.

Right now, 1 in 2 Australians will be diagnosed with cancer by the age of 85. That means every one of us is impacted in some way. Relay For Life is a chance for our local community to come together and make a real difference.

To make this event happen, we’re looking for passionate, community-minded people to join the volunteer committee.

If you’ve been thinking about giving back, building your skills, or meeting like-minded people, this is a great opportunity to be part of something meaningful. You don’t need prior experience — just a willingness to get involved.

We are especially looking for people to support:

-Logistics and event operations -Marketing and promotions -Volunteer recruitment and coordination -Team and community engagement

There are monthly meetings to start, and roles are flexible depending on your interests and availability. As the event gets closer, there is a higher level of involvement as plans come together.

Being on the committee is a chance to make a genuine impact in your local community and help create an event that supports those affected by cancer.

If you’d like to be part of it, we’d love to hear from you.
