Community Engagement & Club Operations Coordinator
Advertised by Volunteer South West IncorporatedWhat you'll be doing
The Community Engagement & Club Operations Coordinator supports the club’s essential off pool activities. At the start of each season, you’ll reach out to local schools to promote underwater hockey and help organise the paperwork needed for registrations and events. You’ll manage member information, ensure Working With Children Checks are up to date, and provide the necessary forms to members who need them. Throughout the season (late October/early November to approx. April), you’ll help coordinate gear sales for players and send weekly game results to the Collie Mail and Collie Radio. If you choose to take on these two tasks, being at the pool once a week for the first hour is ideal so you can collect results and assist members directly. We play Monday and Wednesdays 5:30pm-7:30pm This is a practical, people focused role that keeps the club connected to the community and ensures everything behind the scenes runs smoothly:
- Contacting local schools at the start of the season to advertise
- Organising paperwork for two events each year (February and end of season)
- Updating and entering new memberships into Excel
- Ensuring Working With Children Checks are current and providing forms to members who need them
- Coordinating the sale of gear (snorkels, masks, caps, etc.) to members
- Coordinate uniform ordering (this only occurs sporadically, usually less than once per season)
- Emailing weekly game results to the Collie Mail and Collie Radio
- Attending the pool once a week to collect results and assist members with gear purchases
Why this matters
This role keeps the club visible, compliant, and welcoming. Your work helps new players discover underwater hockey, ensures members have what they need to participate, and keeps the community updated and engaged through local media. Without someone managing these tasks, the club can’t grow, stay organised, or maintain its strong community presence.
The best bit?
You become the friendly face who helps players get started, keeps the club connected to Collie, and makes sure everyone has the gear and information they need. It’s a role with real impact and you get to be part of the action each week, even if you’re not in the pool. Best of all; you get to be a part of a family friendly and welcoming club.
