Would you like to support 8-18 year olds as they grow from kids to confident preteens. Our Scouts learn to organise and run their own activities supported by adult adults as they explore nature and the outdoors and engage with a local community. They learn leadership skills, teamwork, safety skills and earned badges for all of these areas. No previous experience is required. Training is provided as well as opportunities to rock climb, cycle, snorkel, canoe and many more. You can also earn nationally recognise qualifications. Our sections meet from one to 2 hours a week during the school term with other activities on occasional weekends.

Commitment

Regular - more than 6 months

Training

Adult training in Scouts includes online modules, on-the-job learning, and fun in-person weekend courses. All adult volunteers must complete 3 basic online modules (covering child protection, WHS & ethics) within 3 months.

Time required

12-15 hours per month - evenings/nights and occasional weekends.

Requirements

National Police Certificate
Working with Children Check

Enthusiasm and a commitment to Scouting Principles and Programme Ability to communicate and share leadership with other leaders and adults A good example of high standard personal behaviour Ability to motivate, communicate and work effectively with young people
