Soup Van is a program of the St Vincent de Paul Society Victoria. The primary aim of the Soup Van Program is to offer food, social connection, and referral pathways out of homelessness and poverty, to people experiencing or at risk of homelessness or facing disadvantage. We are currently seeking compassionate and reliable volunteers to join our Melton Soup Van team. This is a rewarding opportunity to support vulnerable members of the community while working alongside a friendly and dedicated team. Volunteer Responsibilities: As a Soup Van Volunteer, you may assist with: • Preparing and packing food, including sandwiches, soup, and hot meals • Loading and stocking the Soup Van with food and essential supplies • Receiving and unpacking deliveries • Distributing food and refreshments during Soup Van runs • Providing a friendly, respectful, and welcoming presence to community members • Assisting with kitchen and vehicle clean-up after each shift • Driving the Vinnies van (optional – driver’s license required)
