ABOUT EVERGREEN CONNECTIONS
Evergreen Connections is a Community Visitors Program that matches caring volunteers with older people across Melbourne's eastern suburbs who are experiencing loneliness and social isolation.
It's a wonderful opportunity to make a meaningful difference in your local community. Regular visits help reduce social isolation, foster genuine friendships and create lasting connections that enrich the lives of both volunteers and the older people they visit.
Current Opportunity
- Spend time with a lovely older couple in Bulleen.
- Greek-speaking is preferred, but not essential.
- Visit weekly or fortnightly at a time that suits you.
- Share conversation, companionship and friendship.
- Build meaningful connections and a stronger sense of community.
- Know you're making a positive difference in someone else's life—and your own.
You don't need any special skills or experience—just a friendly nature and a willingness to spend time with someone. Balwyn Evergreen Centre carefully matches volunteers with older people to help ensure a positive experience for everyone, and ongoing support is only ever a phone call away
The role is flexible and designed to fit around your schedule. Whether you visit during your lunch break, after work or on the weekend, the most important thing is establishing regular visits and building a meaningful connection.
