Vehicle Maintenance & Handyperson Support (Trades & Services)

About Us 4 Voices provides immediate and practical solutions for girls and women at risk of crisis by providing free connection, practical support and early intervention for women experiencing challenges or hardship.

Through mobile outreach, phone support and a dedicated volunteer network, we help women feel heard, supported and connected to community and the services or resources they need.

As the 4 Voices Vehicle Maintenance & Handyperson Services (Trades & Services), you are required to maintain facilities of the frontline services van. You are responsible for:

Van readiness & operations. Ensure van is operational and ready for the week including:

  • Refilling water tanks
  • Re-stocking of supplies
  • Cleaning of the van interior
  • Washing the exterior of the van (as needed)

Stock and supplies management:

  • Managing all van supplies and coordinating with the team to re-stock (printer toner, period products, cups etc.)
  • Weekly purchasing of consumables via our Woolworths account (biscuits, milk, tea, coffee etc.)

Communication, coordination and repairs:

  • Liaise with the Van Coordinator to resolve issues and support
  • required servicing or maintenance (e.g. taking the van to
  • appointments or arranging someone else to do so)
  • Report and follow up on any repairs needed to keep the van safe and operational.
  • Communicate van issues or changes with relevant leaders
  • Liaise with scheduling about updates needed for the van schedule.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Current Australian driver’s licence with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Experience in an operational support, logistics, facilities, fleet, or similar role.
  • Ability to safely operate and maintain organized vehicles.
  • Current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
  • Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).

Desirable

  • Certificate III or IV in Logistics, Warehousing, Trade, Business. Administration, Community Services, or a related field.
  • General maintenance or handyman experience.
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and workplace health and safety (WHS) requirements.
  • Experience working in a community, health, or not-for-profit organization.
  • First Aid Certificate.
