Communications Assistant Volunteer

About the Role The Communications Assistant Volunteer plays an important role in supporting the Communications team at Macular Disease Foundation Australia. This position focuses on creating and editing digital content to raise awareness, promote early detection, and support individuals affected by macular disease. Working alongside the Communications Manager, Digital Marketing Officer and broader team, you will contribute to the Foundation’s online presence through social media, digital assets and video content. This role is well suited to someone looking to develop or apply their skills in digital marketing within a purpose-driven organisation. Engagement Tasks

• Create digital marketing materials using Canva, including banners and A4 flyers
• Apply brand guidelines and style standards to all communications outputs
• Edit and trim video content to support campaigns and online platforms
• Organise and categorise digital media assets by campaign
• Source free stock images and footage for digital content
• Support general communications and administrative tasks as required

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Strong technical skills across Microsoft, Canva, Adobe Suite and/or video editing tools
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a communications or marketing team
• Strong organisational and administrative skills
• Attention to detail and ability to follow brand guidelines
• Flexible and reliable, with a willingness to contribute during peak periods
