Be an activities program assistant for those living with dementia

The Haven Day Centre is a day program that meets the needs of those with dementia and their carers through providing a quality day respite option as well as offering carer support initiatives.

We are seeking a program assistant to support staff in providing activities for our clients who are living with dementia/memory loss. Activities include arts and crafts, games, reminiscence, music, preparing lunch and setting up/cleaning up for meal times.

Volunteer duties include:

• Setting up and assisting with activities
• Assisting with the preparation of a simple lunch in our kitchen for up to 12 clients (setting the table, preparing lunch, cleaning up the kitchen)

The assistance of a staff member is provided.

This role is for our Friday activity program. Availability for the entire day from 9.30am - 3.30pm is preferred.
