Volunteer Café Supervisor – Help Make a Difference in Your Community!
Are you passionate about people, hospitality and giving back to your community? Bethania Community Centre is looking for a caring, organised and enthusiastic Volunteer Café Supervisor to help oversee our welcoming community café.
Our café is much more than somewhere to grab a coffee—it's a safe place where people can connect, access support and enjoy affordable meals in a friendly environment. As Café Supervisor, you'll play an important role in creating a welcoming space for everyone who walks through our doors.
Key Duties
- Supervise the day-to-day operation of the community café.
- Support, mentor and encourage café volunteers.
- Prepare and serve tea, coffee and light meals.
- Maintain high food safety and hygiene standards.
- Assist with stock rotation and stock ordering.
- Open and close the café when required.
- Ensure the café remains clean, organised and welcoming.
- Provide outstanding customer service to community members.
- Assist with basic cash handling and EFTPOS transactions.
- Work alongside Centre staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
Skills & Experience
- Previous café, hospitality or customer service experience.
- Leadership or supervisory experience is highly regarded.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to remain calm during busy periods.
- Passion for supporting people from all walks of life.
- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate is highly desirable.
- Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
