Get Around Caboolture is a community organisation working to create more transport choice so everyone can travel safely, independently and confidently, whether they walk, wheel, ride, catch public transport or drive.
We're looking for someone who enjoys legal research and exploring complex public policy questions. If you're studying law, recently graduated, or simply enjoy researching legal issues, this is an opportunity to work on projects with real-world impact.
What you'll be doing
- Researching legal questions relating to transport, accessibility and public policy
- Reviewing legislation, case law, government policies and academic literature
- Comparing approaches used in Australia and overseas
- Summarising complex legal issues in plain English
- Working with our team to develop your research into a published policy or blog article that showcases your work
Research topics may include
- Government responsibilities for providing transport options
- Road safety and the legal duties of road authorities
- Human rights and equitable access to transport
- Constitutional and funding questions affecting transport investment
- Planning law, transport policy and public decision-making
